Teaching

Dr Wong has a longstanding dedication to clinical education, which included obtaining a MA in Clinical Education, awarded with merit.

She is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate training of medical doctors and allied health professionals (e.g. orthoptists, optometrists, dietitians, physiotherapists, health psychologists) at her academic and NHS institutions; and regularly contributes to teaching through professional medical societies.

Research

Dr Wong is an active neuroscience researcher in areas of her clinical expertise, with a mission of translating pertinent clinically relevant questions into research for improved person-centred patient outcomes.

Dr Wong has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in medical journals and chapters in textbooks; was previously on the editorial boards of Eye journal (2019-2022) and Neuro-Ophthalmology journal (2017-2022); and is an active peer reviewer for medical journals. She is also an active contributor with several research consortiums and collaborations.

Current active research projects for evidence-based clinical interventions include:

  • Chief Investigator for a Randomised Controlled Trial on the treatment of Visual Snow Syndrome

  • Co-Principal Investigator with Prof Punga for a Randomised Controlled Trial on lifestyle interventions including physical activity and sleep in Myasthenia Gravis.
